We have come a very long and difficult path, which you can read about in the "Project History". section. The most important tasks accomplished in recent years are presented below.

Preproject stage (2007-2008)

  • the new concept and design of the temple was developed;
  • urban planning rationale for the placement of the temple on the allocated site was developed;
  • the necessary research of soils (geotechnical, environmental, and others) was conducted;
  • preliminary specifications for the connection to the city networks were granted;
  • public hearings among the local population were held;
  • work has begun to provide charitable assistance to the local population;
  • obtained the necessary approval from city authorities for the position of the Temple on the allocated site;
  • on June 6, 2008 the main preproject stage document was issued: “the Act of authorized usage of land for the construction of the temple”; it was ratified by the Moscow Government decree in August 31, 2009.

Design stage (2008-2011)

  • in July 2008 a contract was signed with "Mosproekt 1" Institute, design works began
  • by January 2009 an architectural project of the temple consisting of 2 buildings was developed

By the beginning of 2010 the main sections of the construction project documentation were developed:

  • master plan of the site
  • architectural and planning solutions
  • technological solutions
  • constructional solutions
  • fire preventive measures
  • energy efficiency
  • engineering systems
  • the draft plan of construction management
  • consolidated networking plan

In August 2010 the project of the Vedic Culture Center was approved by the Architectural Board of Moscow (without comment).

On October 20, 2010 the decree of the Moscow Government (№ 2365-RP) was issued which granted the land to ISKCON for the construction period of 2010-2012.
